PURPLE+RED's Phil Sherwood was Head of Volunteering & Workforce Training at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. He was responsible for the attraction, selection, recruitment, and training of the 70,000 strong volunteer programme – remembered as the distinctly purple and red uniformed, and now internationally acclaimed volunteer ‘Games Makers’. Prior to his role at London 2012 he was a career officer in the British Army.
